GST collection crossed 1 lakh crore for the second consecutive month

Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection has been more than one lakh crore rupees for the second consecutive month. According to the data released by the government, GST collection in December was Rs 1.03 lakh crore. The GST collection in the same month a year ago was Rs 97,276 crore, while in the previous month (November 2019) the figure was Rs 1,03,492 crore.

According to an official statement, a total GST collection of Rs 1,03,184 crore took place in December this time. It included Rs 19,962 crore recovery from Central GST (CGST), Rs 26,792 crore recovery from State GST (SGST), Rs 48,099 crore from Integrated GST (IGST) and Rs 8,331 crore from Cess. 21,295 crore was recovered from imports in the integrated GST. Similarly, in the recovery of cess, Rs 847 crore was received from cess on imported goods.In December, the GST collection from domestic transactions registered a 16 percent increase.
